General Info
Thank you for registering for the First Annual VEX IQ Tournament @iTech Magnet High School Open. Please be certain your contact information (Email and Phone number) are correct with events.vex.com, as this the only way we can contact teams with updates, confirmation, and cancelations.
Since ithis event is pre-recorded you have from March 10- 14th. The final date to submit your engineering notebook and video will be March 14th by 4:00 p.m.
- The video will include the maximum of 3 skills and 3 autonomous matches. Only 1 driver is needed for each.
- You can’t have the same person complete everything in the video.
- The video must show the inspection being completed prior to completing any matches. Please use a tool that will clearly demonstrate the measurements. Your team could possibly be disqualified if we can’t clearly see the robot inspection information. Please review the robot inspection form and the field inspection form attached. The field must have the skills set up as written in the game manual (hint, there are 2 different field setups, one for teams and one for skills.).
- The video, once it starts it can’t be paused or edited. It must be a continuous run from inspection to the 3 drivers and 3 autonomous matches.
- During the video, the event code and name of the tournament along with team number and letter of your team must be displayed throughout the video. You can’t use a video from a previous event. (Code will be provided on March 10)
- Recommendation is to tape the above information on a wall near the field and it needs to stay visible throughout the entire recording of the video.
- If a robot has technical difficulties, it is still part of the video. If you pause you will need to start all over again.
- Once a match starts, it cannot be restarted. Unless you start the video from the beginning. (which means, start from the inspection)
- One team member or the coach will take score of the match once it is over and use the official score sheet from the REC for this year’s game. (I have attached a copy for you).
- The score sheet must be shown and be part of the video once the match is over and updated. Please identify the score sheet as Autonomous or Driver. Please fill out the form in its entirety. If no points were earned, please write a 0. I suggest using a pen to document your scores. This year you also need to circle the parts of the field where scores were made on the form and it needs to match the video. I recommend having a student read and show the written scored form in the video. The head referee will be viewing and everything including scored form and video needs to match. The head referees scoring is final.
- Once you complete the video, I would have someone actually say the video has completed. This is to avoid confusion and that we know the entire video has been submitted.
- Send the video in a format that is not private. I recommend YOUTube. All judges need to be able to open all the videos.
