General Info

Welcome to the MCCC/Midway 2021 VEX IQ MS/ES Only Rise Above Tournament

VEX events have been held on the campus of Monroe County Community College (MCCC) since the 2011-2012 “Gateway” season. The previous nine seasons of VEX events have been fun and challenging. The event staff has always tried to flexible, transparent while providing some good quality fun for students, coaches, and parents. This year the response to SARS-CoV-2 by state and local authorities add a certain level of uncertainty to the event.   It remains our intention to provide fun competition while adhering to regulations. The level of uncertainty is compounded by changes happening in some cases by the millisecond. This makes for the need to plan and apply Covid-19 parameters on some level competitive. Therefore, the following procedure for MCCC events this season.

  1. Prepare your team by building a robot and announce your intention to compete by registering. (Looking forward to seeing you)
  2. Do not send registration money at this point. By registering now, you give an ability to adequately plan for the event.
  3. This will extend the ability to review current state and local responses to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
  4. Approximately three weeks prior to the event teams will be notified by the event committee detailing event operations to review.
  5. At this time if you plan on coming (we hope you are) please send registration money at that time.
  6. This season will require a level of flexibility that may be awkward. This is the season of Covid-19, we are technical professionals and no virus will take away all our fun!

See you soon.

Have a VEXellent day
