Welcome to the VIQC Live Remote Skills Event!

Instructions on how/where to sign up for the available time slots are sent upon registering for the event. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder if you don't receive a sign-up email immediately after you register. Each mentor will need to sign up for one of the 30 minute slots.

Mandatory: All participants (In-person and Remote) must have a Participant Release Form on file. It is the responsibility of the teacher/mentor to make sure this occurs. A link to the instructions on how to submit a Participant Release Form is found here: https://events.vex.com/consent/

Remote Skills:

The following are required as a minimum to compete at this event:

A full size VEX IQ Challenge Field (6' x 8') and a full set of Rise Above field and game elements.
Tool for sizing (VEX IQ measuring tool, tape measure, etc.)
Webcam(s) connecing to PC/laptop with Zoom capability. One webcam is permissible if it can view the whole field as well as move around the field via the Head Ref's instructions. Otherwise, additional webcams are needed to accomplish these tasks. One connection via a mobile phone is ideal for this purpose, in addition to the main webcam, to allow the team to answer questions from the Head Referee/inspector. Webcams need to log into the event at least 5 minutes before your time slot.

All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. Event Partners should continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.

Agenda

We are hosting a Live Remote Skills challenge. Each team will be assigned a 30-minute time slot. Inspections will be held remotely and it's important that you have a mobile/moveable webcam and a measuring device allowing the inspectors to certify your robot. Please test your meeting Link that will be provided to you ensuring you have no issues logging in prior to your time slot. If you are to have any issues please contact us ASAP.
