General Info

The VEX IQ Middle School State Championship is a two day event in Doswell, VA at the Meadow Event Park.  Teams must qualify for the tournament by participating in a regional event by February 19th, 2022.  Teams qualify by winning awards at a local tournament or by invitation based on the highest skills scores posted in Virginia during the season.

As in previous years, teams will be in roughly a 10'x10' booth with pipe and drape, a table, 2 chairs, and a pit sign in the west half of the venue.  Skills challenges, practice fields, and matches will take place in the east half of the venue.  Teams will have 8 matches and 3 attempts at each skills challenge (driving and programming).  Parking is available on the west side of the venue.

This event is free and open to the public.

The 2022 Virginia VEX State Championship will have the following COVID-19 Policies:

  • For every registered team, you can have one adult representative. RECF consent forms are required for every member of the team, including adults.
  • To promote health and safety for the event, we are limiting the number of spectators and requiring spectators register for a free spectator ticket from EventBrite.
  • Face coverings must be worn over the nose and mouth at all times while indoors, and while outdoors when 6’ separation cannot be maintained - no exceptions.
    • Masks are required - N95 or KN95 are recommended but a cloth, surgical, or otherwise will suffice.
    • Face coverings must snugly cover your nose and mouth.
    • Face coverings must not be a bandana, loose mesh, or a plastic face shield alone.
    • Event staff reserves the right to ask any attendee to replace a mask deemed insufficient with an event-provided mask.
  • Team members are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to get vaccinated for COVID-19. Many locations in the United States offer walk-in vaccinations, and all COVID-19 vaccines in the US are available at no cost.
