General Info

Get your field trip permission slips and request your busses now! This Tournament will be held during the school day on Friday, December 3rd! Give your students the opportunity to see what high school is like.

All students will be staying in one area on campus called “DOME-1”. It is a large area used by Hanks Robotics. It is a good contained area that is enclosed by glass and high school students will be able to pass by and see the action during class transitions.

Drop off will need to be AFTER 8:30am and before 9am. Pickup will be at 3pm. You will need to bring a bag lunch or have food delivered and eat in your pit area.

Space will be limited, so we are asking that you try to limit your teams to no more than 4 students each. If that is a concern, please contact [email protected] to discuss a possible exception.

This tournament will be hosted and run by the Hanks Robotics Club. Referees for Qualifiers, Finals, and Skills will be upperclassmen. Judges will be made up of UTEP College Engineering Students and at least one Retired Engineer.

Judging Format

 

  •  In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
