Health and Safety Policies

We look forward to hosting spectators in the future.  It is important to remember that things not only might change, they will. We will continue to be flexible in our approach in compliance with state guidance and best practices as we strive to keep everyone safe.

  • Mask Use: Masks will be mandatory for the event for all in attendance. Mask breaks will take place outside the building.
  • Social Distancing: The Department of Public Health continues to recommend that schools maximize the distance between students to the extent feasible, with the goal of limited potential virus transmission. We will space students at least 3 feet of distance apart, when feasible with available space.
  • Hygiene/Handwashing: Frequent handwashing is still a recommended mitigation strategy to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
  • Spectators are allowed.
  • Please have students bring their own lunch.  Only beverages and a few pre-packaged snack items will be available for purchase.
  • Areas within the cafeteria will be sectioned off for individual schools for eating. No food allowed in classroom/pit areas.  Upon request, we can also provide individual classrooms for pits if your school prefers. Please have your students stay with each other in pit and eating areas.
  • Our tables in the café will have the plexiglass dividers.
  • If you want to order food from local establishments to be delivered, we will provide a location for delivery and contact information.  If you choose this option, please plan accordingly on your own prior to the event.
  • Inspection tables will be separated in the lobby.  Please only have 2 members of each team present during inspection.
  • There will be small desks for queing purposes that will be spaced out according to social distance guidelines.
  • There will only be 1 large bleacher section in front of both fields for student/spectator viewing. Viewing allowed on floor can take place outside the marked off areas.
  • Pleas provide a list of students and coaches attending prior to event.  Upon check-in, please provide updated list.
  • If any of your students or coaches have any COVID-19 symptoms, please keep them home.

Judging Format

  •  In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
