Welcome to Pitching In the New Year VEX IQ In Person Skills Event!
Instructions on how/where to sign up for the available time slots are sent upon registering for the event. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder if you don't receive a sign-up email immediately after you register.
Mandatory: All participants (In-person and Remote) must have a Participant Release Form on file. It is the responsibility of the coach to make sure this occurs. A link to the instructions on how to submit a Participant Release Form is found here: https://events.vex.com/consent/
***Please note that any team(s) that have not paid registration fees by 2/4 will be moved to the waitlist and may have their spot replaced.
On Saturday, 2/5 you need
- The Team’s Primary Contact, or another designated Adult Team contact (over the age of 18), must attend the event with the teams.
- Your robot (ready to pass inspection)
- to be ready to have some fun!
Teams will be able to sign up for a time slot to run their skills trials, to be posted soon. The skills trails will all be done in person and one at a time. Masks are required.

Note: Teams will have 20 minutes to complete 6 skills trials. Inspection of the robot will take place at the beginning of this time block. Following the trial period, teams will each then attend an interview session with judges, which will last up to 8 minutes.

Volunteer
Each team venue will need to provide a referee to be on site. There will also need to be an adult present in the room where the remote judging takes place in the role of supervision.
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of cancellation due to emergency or bad weather, we will not be able to reschedule the event as this is the last week available to have an event prior to the State Tournament.
