Welcome to Garland ISD's For the Love of Robotics!  Garland always plays host to some of the best events in the state, For the Love of Robotics will be no exception!  We are looking forward to another great event. This is an in person event.  Please read each of the following. Each of these will be adhered to with no exceptions.

  • All attendees are expected to abide by the code of conduct 

    • Although we don’t expect there to be any violations during the tournament, the EP reserves the right to disqualify any person(s) and ask perpetrators to leave the premises. .

  • All participants are expected to have the participant release form .   on file prior to competing. 

  • Please have all Coaches/Mentors/Chaperons fill out this Pit Allowance form before (week prior to tournament date). Only adults who have filled out this form will be allowed in the Pit Area.

    • Only 1 adult per team will be allowed to enter the Pit Area.  Example - if your organization has 5 teams, you can have 5 adults

Digital engineering notebooks will be accepted through Robot Events and need to be uploaded on or before Monday, February 6, 2023 by 5 PM. 

Concessions will be available at the event.

There will not be public practice fields offered at this event.  Practice fields will be limited to 5 on a first come first serve based on requests prior to the event.

Agenda

 

 

Doors open at 7:00 am for coaches ONLY.  Parents and teams will be admitted after 7:15 am.

  • Team check-in and Inspection: 7:15 am - 8:00 am

  • Team Meeting: 8:10 am

  • Qualification/Skills Matches: 8:30 am 

  • 12:00 - 12:30 Lunch

  • 12:35 Resume qualifications matches  

  • Finals Matches: 2:00 pm  - 2:30 pm

  • Skills will close approximately 30 minutes before finals begin

  • Awards 2:45 pm - 3:00 pm 

    • Please note that our tournaments normally end between 2:00-2:30

*Please keep in mind that all times are approximate, tournaments can tend to run ahead of schedule.  Tournament schedule is subject to change throughout the duration. We will adhere to the match number rather than match start time.

Judging Format

 Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline of February 6, 2022 by 5 pm.
