General Info
We are excited to have you join us for our first robotics tournament on November 28th at Barkley Bridge Elementary School. We want to ensure that the tournament is smooth and enjoyable for everyone, so we are asking teams to do a few things in advance:
- Watch the driver meeting video. This video will be posted to YouTube on November 14th and will cover important rules and information for the new game.
- Complete the pre-event inspection. This inspection must be signed by a coach and will ensure that your robot is functioning properly. You can bring your robot to the inspection table at the event.
- Be where you are supposed to be. We will be running matches as soon as possible, so please be present at your assigned location when your match is called. If you are not present, you will be given a 1-minute timer to show up. If you do not show up within 1 minute, you will be given a no-show for the match and will receive a score of zero.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to run a smooth and efficient tournament. Our goal is to get all of the matches completed and teams heading home in a timely fashion.
Additional Tips:
- Have a backup plan. Things don't always go according to plan at robotics tournaments, so it's a good idea to have a backup plan in case of unexpected problems. For example, if your robot breaks down, have a plan for how you will fix it quickly or get a replacement robot on the field.
- Be prepared for delays. Even if everything goes perfectly, there may still be delays due to unforeseen circumstances such as technical problems or unexpected weather. Be prepared to wait patiently and be flexible with your schedule.
- Have fun! Robotics tournaments are a great way to learn, compete, and have fun with your friends. Don't forget to enjoy yourself and cheer on your teammates.
We look forward to seeing you at the tournament!
