Welcome to Oman National VEX IQ Championship!

Oman National Full Volume VEX IQ Elementary and Middle School Championship will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023.  Students this year will design robots for the Full Volume Game; details can be found here:  https://www.vexrobotics.com/vexiq/competition/viqc-current-game

This event is open to Elementary and Middle School students qualified from pre-nationals for the 2023 – 2024 season.

Skills Challenges will be available to all teams, with 3 Max Driver attempts and 3 Max Programming attempts per team

Competition Preparation

This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event! All teams should come prepared for the competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are ready:

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition, as there is ample time for adjustments.  The inspection checklist can be found here: http://link.roboticseducation.org/viqc_robotinspectionchecklist20192020

  3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com
  4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
    1. Spare parts & tools
    2. Batteries and chargers
    3. Programming cable
    4. Power strip
    5. Laptop computer
    6. Engineering notebook.
  5. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards being given during the tournament.
  6. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
  7. Remember that safety comes first; please only bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team or others nearby, as the venue is a very tight fit.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
