Welcome to The London Tea Party 2026!

The London Tea Party Event will be held in central London at the Kia Oval. 

 

What is The London Tea Party?

This event aims to promote the collabaration and further engagement between teams internationally, particularly across EMEA. We hope to see a diverse range of teams and countries participating and give an opportunity to students to compete with each other at an international level. 

 

Payments?

RobotEvents does not accept payments for UK events when registering, select "Pay Later." An email will be sent afterwards on how to pay, or check the Payments tab for domestic and international payments. Please pay before the payment deadline of 31st December, please get in contact if there will be any issues and to ask for an extension.

 

Registration?

There is a maximum registration for 3 teams per region and 2 teams per organisation. If your region's capacity is full, please add your team to the waitlist. This is subject to a review on Monday 3rd November 2025 based of number of registrations and the regional breakdown, expect invitations from the waitlist around this time. Please contact us for any queries regarding this.

 

Hotel Recommedations

We recommend booking a hotel nearby the event, as travelling with robotics equipment can be difficult. In no particular order here are some recommendations:

Competition Preparation

This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for the competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

1. Review the rules, the code of conduct, and run through the inspection checklist

2. Check the VEX Forum and the Q&A for official rule updates and changes.

3. Carefully read all of the information contained in this tournament posting

4. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament. 

5. Prepare for your interviews with the judges.

6. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.

7. Bring your own power expander

Qualification for the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship

This event does not include any spots for 2026 VEX Robotics World Championships.

The London Tea Party 2026 Agenda:

The final agenda will be published 2 weeks before the event. Regarding trip planning, teams should expect to enter the venue at 08:30 at the earliest and leave 18:00 at the latest.

08:30 - 09:30 - Doors Open, Check-in, Inspection, Skills Runs

09:30 - 10:00 - Opening "Ceremony"  & Drivers Meeting

10:00 - 13:00 - Qualification Matches

13:00 - 13:30 - Lunch Break

13:30 - 17:00 - Qualification Matches Resume

17:00 - 18:00 - Finals Matches & Awards

18:00 - Event Finishes, and Cleanup Starts (plan to leave at around this time)

Volunteer

This event is run by Teatime Robotics, we host and volunteer at events across the UK and Internationally. Our referees and judges have volunteered at the VEX World Championships and will ensure a fantastic event for the teams.

Events are run on volunteers, so we always need more!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event needs to be cancelled, relocated or postponed due to adverse weather conditions all teams will be contacted using the email addresses you provide on Robotevents. 

No refund will be offered for any travel costs you incur should the event be cancelled, postponed or relocated (for whatever reason). Please consider this carefully before booking travel and accommodation arrangements. The registration fee will be partially refunded after paying any venue costs in the case of cancellation.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

A full refund of recieved funds will be available if the team withdraws prior to 31st December 2025. This means any tranaction fees will be taken off.

No refunds will be available to teams after 31st December 2025.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.

Please ensure that upon registration, you complete the questionnaire and provide the lanuages spoken by the team so the best possible attempts are translating services can be used.
