Whether you're driving a robot or just dashing through the halls decked with holiday decor, it's the perfect way to mix STEM spirit with seasonal sparkle. Whether you're helping teams check in, keeping score on the field, or serving as a judge to witness amazing teamwork and innovation, there's a role for everyone. No robotics experience needed—just bring your energy, holiday spirit, and a love for helping students shine. Volunteers make the magic happen, and we’d love to have you on our team!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The safety of all participants is our top priority. In the event of severe weather or other emergencies that could impact travel or venue conditions, Galveston ISD will monitor local forecasts and consult with district officials. Any decisions regarding delays, rescheduling, or cancellation will be communicated as early as possible via email, the event’s RobotEvents.com page, and social media if applicable.

If the event must be canceled due to weather or emergencies, we will make every effort to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, refunds will be issued as appropriate.

Please use your best judgment when traveling and stay safe. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility!

Refund and Payment Policies

If the event partner cancels the event:
In the event that GISD must cancel the Robot & Reindeer Rumble due to weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, all registered teams will receive a full refund of the event registration fee. We will also communicate promptly via email and the event’s RobotEvents.com page with updates and next steps.

If a coach/mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Teams that choose to withdraw after registration is complete will not receive a refund. Please contact the event partner as soon as possible if you need to cancel. We appreciate your understanding, as event planning and expenses are based on registered team numbers.

Judging Format

 

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
