General Info

SLBS VIQRC Mix & Match Winter Regional is held at the Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys. This is a UK-Educational Establishment Event ONLY

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • The Coach/Mentor should follow the REC foundation rules on withdrawing and changing teams. If the choses to withdraw, for any reason, after the registration end date, the Event Partner should be contacted as soon as possible to allow them time to offer the spot to a team on the waiting list. 
  • If a member of staff is not attending please pass on the emergency mobile phone number to the parent or guardian attending with the team. This will allow the parent or guardian to contact the Event Partner contact person as soon as possible. This will mean that the event can run as smoothly as possible on the day.

Agenda – Schedule for the day

Please do not arrive before 8:30 as the site will not be accessible.

Provisional agenda subject to team registration numbers.

NB - Robot skills will take place from 30 minutes after the start of the qualification matches until the start of the last qualification match. A period of time no longer than 30 minutes will be allowed for the judge to have a break during this time.

9:00 - 9:30 Teams arrive

9:30 - 10:00 Team inspection

10:00 - 12:30 Qualification matches

12:30 - 1:00 Lunch

1:00 - 2:30 Qualification matches

2:30 - 3:30 Final ladder matches

3:30 - 4:00 Awards

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event needs to be cancelled, relocated or postponed due to adverse weather conditions all teams will be contacted using the email addresses you provide on Robotevents. If a member of the school staff is not attending please send, in the week of the event, a contact email address or phone number of parents or guardians bringing the team.

This is a free event. As such no refund will be offered for any travel costs you incur should the event be cancelled, postponed or relocated (for whatever reason). Please consider this carefully before booking travel and accommodation arrangements.

As mentioned in the Bad Weather policy, teams will be contacted using the details given on Robotevents or sent directly by the school to the Event Partner in the last week before the event.

Judging Format

In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews will be judged in-person the day of the event.

Teams should submit their engineering notebook digitally if they wish to be considered for all judged awards. If the Engineering  Notebook is submitted digitally for evaluation  then a should be done via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. The submission deadline will be the closing date for the event registration.
