General Info

Thanks for considering our Mix and Match Vex IQ Middle School tournament.  This event will begin at 12:30pm with doors opening at noon and will be completed by 5:30pm.  There will be in-person judging, skills, and a tournament on four fields, running two matches at a time.  

We are located at Tri-West middle school, just west of Indianapolis, in Lizton Indiana.  We are just south of Interstate 74.

This will be a state qualifier tournament that is a fast paced, half day event.  

A hard copy of the Engineering notebook will need to be brought in the day of the event if you want to be part of judging. 

There will be a snack stand with chips, candy, hot dogs, nachos, and drinks.  They will accept cash and credit cards. 

 Enter the school complex off or State road 136.  Parking will be on the south side of the Middle School.  Enter through Door 7 and registration will be just inside.

Agenda

12:00pm         Doors open - Check in and drop off engineering notebook

12:15pm         Inspections and Judging interviews begin.  Must have robot inspected by 1:30pm.  For judging, you will need to go the the judging room for interviews.  This will be on a first come first serve basis.  Teams that do not get the interviews completed by 4:30pm will not be given a judging award. 

1:00pm           Drivers meeting in the Gym

1:15pm           Matches and Skills start

4:30pm           Last interview for Judging

5:00pm           Finals and Awards

5:30pm           Event over - Clean up (any help you can give is appreciated).

We should have enough volunteers, but if some one would like to volunteer don't hesitate to reach to me.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Please keep me advised if the weather is in question as I will keep all teams advised if the weather is in question.  Refunds will be on a case by case basis. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: We will refund all fees minus the $5 processing fee.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:  Please only register robot teams that intend to attend. Due to the limited space for events, we will not issue a refund for any other reason.

Payment Deadline is January 24th, 2026. Not paying by this date may mean that your team may be placed on the waitlist to make room for another team.

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  •  Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted the day of the event for evaluation.
