General Info

Welcome to the 6th Annual Southwest Native American VEX IQ Robotics Competition Showcase Event, hosted by the White Mountain Apache Tribe of Whiteriver, Arizona, the Whiteriver Unified School District, and Apache Behavioral Health Services.

This event is designed to allow Native American VEX IQ teams from the across North America to come together to enjoy a fun robotics competition and showcase their culture. Teams are encouraged to prepare a physical display on their local culture, that can be set up for both participants and spectators to enjoy. Please contact Trish Miller, [email protected], for instructions on any cultural presentations or exhibits your team may bring.

To be eligible to compete teams must have more than 50% of actively participating members recognized as Native American or Indigenous American.  Coaches will be responsible for guaranteeing their team meet this requirment. Teams wishing to participate but have not yet registered for the event may send an email to Trish and your Native American team will be manually added to the event.

Interviews for Judged Awards will begin Friday morning, November 14.  Engineering Notebook submission must be hard copy. Please print if currently electronic.

This event will qualify 4 spots to Worlds, as follows:

Excellence Award - Middle School - 1 spot

     Tournament Champions - 2 spots

We plan to continue this tradition each year. This year's in-person tournament event includes full alliance competition and awards.
