General Info

Welcome to Lakeside's Winter Bot Bash.  As always, we will try to run a fun and relaxed event.

Our event will be located behind Lakeside High School in the STEM Building also known as the Joyce L Vaught Alternative Learning Environment Building.  Please do not use the 1110 S. Lakeshore address - this address will take you to the Administration Building.  Please use 336 Hwy 82 W.  The event will be hosted in the building behind the high school - just follow the signs.  There is plenty of space for buses to park in the parking lot.  Also, spectators are welcome to attend.

Engineering notebooks will be turned in the morning of the competition. We are currently only accepting physical notebooks.

Judges interviews will be SCHEDULED.  These scheduled interview times will coincide with the morning Skills portion, and you will receive your interview schedule at the event.

This event is currently slated to be a mixed event.  If we have enough Elementary vs Middle School teams, we will split the Excellence award, to provide 1 excellence award for Middle School, and 1 Excellence award for Elementary.

What to Expect

Inspection

  • Size will be determined with a 2' x 6' field portion.

  • Robots will be placed on the field portion, and a sizing tool will be run across the robot to ensure proper height and width.

  • To avoid crowding, please send only 2 team members to the sizing table

  • Once Sized, a second inspector will complete your inspections paperwork

  • Reminder:  Zip Ties are NOT legal Vex IQ components, even for cable management.  Robots with zip ties will NOT pass inspection.
