General Info
The Robotics Competition is a VEX IQ Robotics event open to teams from all around Europe, providing a platform for young innovators to design, build, and program their robots to compete in exciting challenges.
When and Where:
The competition will be held on February 25 and 26, 2026, in the sports hall of Elementary School Hajdina, Slovenia.
This event will showcase the skills and creativity of diverse teams, competing in a student-centered VEX IQ environment where teamwork, strategy, and engineering come together. Detailed schedules and streaming links will be published approximately one week before the competition on the RoboTech website.

Emergency and Bad Weather Policy
The safety and well-being of all participants, volunteers, and attendees are our top priority. In the event of an emergency or adverse weather conditions that could affect travel or the competition schedule, the following procedures will be followed:

The competition organizers will closely monitor weather forecasts and local advisories leading up to and during the event.

If severe weather or an emergency situation makes it unsafe or impossible to hold the competition on the scheduled dates, the event may be postponed or rescheduled.

Any changes to the event schedule, including postponements or cancellations, will be communicated promptly via email, the RoboTech website, and social media channels.

Teams are advised to check their email and the official event web page regularly for updates during the event days.

Participants are encouraged to have contingency plans for travel delays or accommodations in case of unexpected weather disruptions.

In case of an emergency occurring during the event, venue staff and organizers will follow established safety protocols and emergency procedures.

In the event that the Event Partner cancels the competition, all registered teams will be notified as soon as possible with information on any potential refunds or rescheduling plans.

If a Coach or Mentor completes registration for the event but later decides to withdraw or does not attend, please note that no refund of the registration fee will be provided under any circumstances.
We encourage all teams and coaches to carefully consider their ability to participate before completing registration.
Health and Safety Policies
Health and Safety Policies for VEX IQ Robotics Competitions

Personal Safety: All participants must wear closed-toe shoes during the event. Running, pushing, or unsafe behavior is prohibited inside the venue.

Supervision: Students must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult during the entire event. Adults must comply with all event rules and remain present in case of emergencies.

Robot Safety: Robots must be operated safely to avoid damage to field elements, robots, and people. Robots should be powered off when being repaired or adjusted. Teams are not allowed to step onto the field at any time.

Protective Equipment: While not mandatory in all areas, safety glasses are highly recommended, especially when building, repairing, or operating robots.

Respect and Conduct: All participants and adults must behave respectfully towards event staff, volunteers, and other teams. Harassment or unsafe conduct may result in disqualification or removal from the event.

Emergency Procedures: Follow the instructions of event staff immediately in case of any emergency.

Field Safety: Keep hands and equipment out of the playing field except during allowed times. Handlers must only interact with robots in designated areas.

Use Common Sense: Follow event rules in the spirit of safety, fairness, and fun. Unsafe or reckless behavior will be addressed by referees or organizers.

Travel Information: How to Get to Hajdina
Hajdina is a small town in northeastern Slovenia, near the city of Ptuj. Below are options to help you plan your travel to the competition venue at Elementary School Hajdina.
By Air:
The closest major airports to Hajdina are:

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) – Approximately 130 km (about 1.5 to 2 hours by car) southwest of Hajdina. This is the main international airport in Slovenia.

Graz Airport (GRZ), Austria – About 65 km (1 hour by car) north of Hajdina, convenient for European connections.

Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG), Croatia – Around 75 km (about 1.5 hours by car) southeast of Hajdina, a well-connected international airport offering another travel option.

Judging Format
- Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
