Welcome to the 2025-2026 Kentucky VEX IQ Middle School State Championship

 

The Kentucky State VEX IQ Tournament is open to Middle School VEX IQ teams that have qualified for this event. 

 

ONLY TEAM MEMBERS AND COACHES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PIT AREA. Please make any parents traveling to the tournament aware.

 

Teams must be paid within two weeks of the event. Teams that do not show as paid or PO Processing will be placed on the waiting list until payment has been made. If teams are not paid the week before the event, they will not be able to participate!

 

Competition Preparation:

This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

1. Review the rules, the code of conduct, and run through the inspection checklist. 

2. Check the VIQRC Official Q & A for official rule updates and changes or the VEX Forum for relevant discussion boards.

3. Carefully read all of the information contained in this tournament posting

4. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament. 

5. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.

6. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.

 

Qualifying Criteria

Please refer to the REC Library Qualifying Criteria for VIQRC, VRC, and VEX U Events document to review the criteria that both teams and events must meet for qualification into 2024-2025 Event Region Championship events, such as the Ohio State Championship, as well as the World Championship.  Spot allocations for VEX IQ can be found in Appendix A and Appendix D.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event will be rescheduled if canceled due to bad weather. Teams will be notified of cancellation through the e-mail address provided in RobotEvents during registration.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

The event will be rescheduled.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will not be issued.

Judging Format

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
