General Info

We’re excited to end the WCS season with Grassland Middle School's Battle on the Grassland, a Middle School VEX IQ tournament designed to give teams an early opportunity to test their builds, collaborate, and gain inspiration in a supportive and fun environment.

Key Details:

  • Practice Fields, Skills, First Judged Interviews, and Inspection will be available Saturday morning.
  • RECF Participant Waiver: All students and adults must complete the RECF release form prior to the event. Instructions and the form are available here:
  • detailed campus map can be found in the Documents or Image Gallery section of the event page.

Payment Policy:

  • Payment is due within three weeks of registration or immediately if registering after January 5, 2026, unless prior arrangements are made with the Event Partner.
  • Teams not paid within three weeks will be moved to the waitlist and may be re-added only if space is available.
  • If your payment process takes longer than three weeks, please communicate clearly with the EP to avoid being waitlisted.

Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to a successful tournament. Please consider volunteering. No prior experience is necessary. Volunteers will receive any training necessary. lunch, and a full day of inspiration working with incredibly talented youth.

 

Each team will be asked to provide ONE volunteer. Please indicate your affiliation in the comments of the Sign Up.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event must be cancelled due to bad weather or another emergency, every attempt will be made to reschedule the event. If bad weather requires the event to be delayed, but held on the same day, each coach will be notified via email and phone.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: a refund will be given.

 

If your team is unable to attend, you can withdraw and request a refund up to 4 weeks prior to the event. After that we will be unable to give refunds.

 

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
