General Info
Welcome to the Caution Tape Lunar New Year Qualifier hosted at Vango Fencint Center Toronto. The event will be offered to Ontario teams to qualify for the Ontario Provincial Championship.
All participants including parents, coaches, mentors, and students must follow the rules of the venue.
Competition Preparation
This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for the competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.
- Review the rules, and the code of conduct, and run through the inspection checklist.
- Check the VEX Forum and the Q&A for official rule updates and changes.
- Carefully read all of the information contained in this tournament posting
- Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
- Prepare for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
- Ensure that you have the latest version of the firmware.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If inclement weather poses challenges, our aim is to proceed with the tournament as scheduled. Timely updates will be distributed to all participating teams through email.

Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
A full refund will be provided.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Full refunds minus 5% administration fee will be given to teams if they cancel by Noon on Friday, Jan 23rd, 2026. After that, no refund will be given.
Payment Information

- Payment is due on 5PM Jan 23rd, 2026. Any teams who hasn't paid after the due date will be moved to waitlist.
- At the donation section of payment page, change from default 15% to 0%.
Any teams that fail to pay the registration within these guidelines will be moved to the waitlist and the spot will be opened up to other teams.

The well-being of all participants, volunteers, and spectators is our priority. To keep the event safe and enjoyable:

Spectators may watch from designated seating areas.

Pit areas are limited to team members and registered coaches.

Hygiene: Please stay home if unwell.

Livestream: The event will be streamed for remote viewing.

Guidelines: We will follow any public health rules in place at the time.

Field access: Only marked staff may enter the field; teams retrieve robots from the side after matches are scored.

Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.
