Dear Robotics Teacher or Coordinator

We are excited to welcome your teams to the CIS Mix and Match Winter Scrimmage. This friendly VEX IQ event is designed to give students meaningful practice in competition strategy, judging, teamwork, and communication as they prepare for the wider 2025 to 2026 season.

Important Notes

• Teams must arrive with robots ready for inspection and all parts clearly legal under the current VEX IQ rules
• Each robot must have two VEX license plates, clearly labeled and firmly attached on both sides of the robot
• All students and adults must follow CIS safety expectations while in the venue
• Teams are expected to demonstrate positive sportsmanship, respectful communication, and collaborative problem solving throughout the event
• Teams should bring a current version of their engineering notebook for in person judging
• Coaches are encouraged to prepare students for short, face to face team interviews with judges

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
