General Info

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION UPDATE: The SCORE Showdown at Great Wolf Lodge registration has previously filled, but some teams have since removed themselves fromt the registered teams list. When this happens, REC policy is to fill newly empty spots from the waitlist, with teams organized first by how many signature event registrations they have, then by order in which they were added to the waitlist.

Hyundai Motors Manufacturing Alabama presents the SCORE Showdown at Great Wolf Lodge hosted by The Southeastern Center of Robotics Education (SCORE) at Auburn University. Located 45 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Great Wolf Lodge offers countless exciting activities both in its indoor water park and its adventure park, ranging from water slides to ropes courses and arcade games.

Join us to earn your spot as one of the best teams in the Southeast and qualify for Worlds in the process! We also encourage teams to come early or stick around after the tournament for a day (or two or three) to enjoy all the thrills Great Wolf Lodge has to offer!

All registered teams will receive a booking code to receive a discount on rooms at the Great Wolf Lodge in their registration confirmation email. Depending on the type of room chosen, the discount rate is between $130 - $199 a night.It is very important that primary contact information in Robot Events is up to date and is regularly checked.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will prevent this event from occurring.

Refund and Payment Policies

Team payment is due by November 7, 2024. Any team unpaid by payment due date will be removed from the registered team list without notification and their spot will be offered to a team on the waitlist. This is necessary due to the need for teams to make travel plans.

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

We are unable to offer refunds to teams that have completed payment. In the event the EP Needs to cancel this event after payment has been made, that money can be applied to a future SCORE event.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

We are unable to offer refunds for this event. Because of this, teams should wait to make payment until they are certain they can and want to attend while being mindful of the payment due date. Any team unpaid by payment due date will be removed from the registered team list without notification.

If a team has to withdraw from competition after payment is made, SCORE can consider transferring the registration fee to another SCORE hosted event.

Judging Format

We have made the formal decision to have all in-person judging as of 11/07/2025.

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person at the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.

Judges will plan on conducting all interviews on the first day of the competition.

Signature Event Early Bird Policy

All Signature Events will have a specific Early Bird Registration that is independent of all local/regional Early Bird systems.
Each team starts the season with three (3) opportunities to register during the Signature Event Early-Bird period.
A Signature Event Early-Bird opportunity is not taken away if a team registers for a tournament hosted by their school or organization (where the team’s coach is the Event Partner).
- If a team registers during the Standard Registration period, a token is not taken away.
- The official Signature Event Early Bird policy can be found in the RECF Library.
- To find out how many Signature Event Early Bird tokens your team(s) have remaining, select the "My Teams" option in RobotEvents.
