Grandville Level Up VEX IQ Competition

General Info

Event Location

The event will be held at the Grandville Robotics Competition Center located on the west side of Grandville Middle School.  VEX IQ teams should use the Grandville Middle School entrance off Canal Ave. Teams will enter through Door-O.

Additional Parking for VEX IQ team parents and spectators is located on the east side of Grandville Middle School.  Parents and spectators can access the east parking lot by using the Middle School 52nd Street entrance. This entrance is located west of Wilson Ave.    

VEX IQ Fields

The VEX IQ fields used for the TEAMWORK matches will be on a raised platform.

Registration Information

All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and events.vex.com website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through events.vex.com website.

Lunch and Concessions

Full concessions will be available from 8:30am am to 2:30pm pm. We offer a lunch pre-order that includes 2 pieces of pizza, snack, a piece of fruit and a drink.  Lunch preorders will be taken until January12. Link for lunch pre-order will be emailed to coaches.

Finals Matches

Up to 32 teams will be paired up and participate in Finals matches.

1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX IQ parts. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament using the IQ  
2. Check the officail vex forum for rule updates and changes.
3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com
4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
   • Spare parts & tools
   • Batteries and chargers
   • Power strip and extension cord
   • Laptop computer / Tablet
   • Programming cable
5. Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for your IQ Brain.

Participation and Consent Form

A completed form for all participants must be uploaded to events.vex.com prior to the tournament. Team leaders will need to check that all team members attending the event have completed the online consent form prior to the tournament.
