General Info

Welcome to the N.T. East VEX IQ (MS) Tournament! Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Technology Education Association (HKTEA) and Ling Liang Church M H Lau Secondary School, this dynamic event brings together school teams from across Hong Kong to test their engineering skills, collaborate with peers, and showcase their technical ingenuity on the VEX IQ platform.

Designed as an immersive STEM experience, the tournament challenges participants to put their classroom knowledge into practice. Teams will deploy their custom-engineered VEX IQ robots in spirited, fast-paced matches that highlight mechanical design, sensor application, precise driving, and automated programming. Beyond the arena, students cultivate essential life skills—sharpening their critical reasoning, tackling complex challenges, and mastering real-time teamwork and sportsmanship.

Throughout the event, competitors will progress from qualification heats through alliance formation to the final elimination rounds, competing for both match titles and judged awards. Whether your team is a veteran contender or embarking on its very first VEX IQ season, you can expect an invigorating, welcoming, and high-energy atmosphere. We warmly invite all coaches, students, and supporters to join us at Ling Liang Church M H Lau Secondary School to celebrate the next generation of innovators!

Registration & Payment Information

When registering for the event on events.vex.com, please select “Pay Later.” Teams that successfully registered for this event will receive a registration form in events.vex.com notification. The purpose of this form is for invoice generation, with payment instructions included. Payment is due within two weeks of the registration date. Teams that fail to meet this deadline will be moved to the waitlist.

We understand that arranging payment may take time. Please contact us if you need assistance. If you are using a Purchase Order (PO), the PO must be in processing status within 2 weeks of registration. Teams that register less than 2 weeks before the registration deadline will have a shorter payment window.

Consent Form

Teams must submit consent forms for all attendees, including but not limited to coaches, students, and parents, before the Registration Deadline. Failure to do so will result in the team being moved to the waitlist, and no refund of the registration fee will be provided. These forms cover important topics such as safety, liability, image rights, and eligibility. As parental consent is required, please ensure all forms are submitted in advance. Teams that do not submit the required forms will not be allowed to participate.

歡迎參與由香港科技教育學會 (HKTEA) 主辦、靈糧堂劉梅軒中學協辦之「VEX IQ 機器人分區賽 - 新界東區 中學組」！本賽事專為全港學生量身打造，旨在提供一個高水準的交流平台，讓青年創客在 VEX IQ 舞台上展現卓越的技術與創意。

比賽將 STEM 理論轉化為實戰體驗，參賽隊伍需運用自行設計與組裝的 VEX IQ 機器人展開精彩對決。賽程不僅全面檢視機械結構、感測技術與自主程式驅動的精準度，更注重隊員間的戰術默契、應變彈性與團隊情誼。透過實戰鍛鍊，學生能有效提升邏輯思維、問題解決力與運動家精神。

各隊將歷經資格初賽、盟友選擇以及高潮迭起的淘汰決賽，角逐分場勝負與多項專業評審大獎。不論是屢創佳績的資深隊伍，還是首度參賽的新秀陣容，都能在此收穫滿滿的啟發與成長。我們誠摯邀請各界導師、學生與家長蒞臨靈糧堂劉梅軒中學，共同為年輕工程師們的精彩表現喝采！

所有學校及機構最多只能報名 4 支隊伍。

請所有參賽者、導師及出席人士遵守 Global Robotics & Science Foundation 的《行為準則》。遵守相關規範將確保所有參與者享有安全、友善且互相尊重的活動體驗。賽事主辦單位感謝大家的共同努力，以攜手維護這些標準。

報名及付款安排

於 events.vex.com 報名時，請選擇「Pay Later」。成功報名本賽事的隊伍，將會在 events.vex.com 通知中收到報名表格。此表格用作產生發票，並附有付款指引。付款須於報名日期後兩週內完成。未能在期限前付款的隊伍將被移至等候名單。

我們理解安排付款可能需時，如有需要請聯絡我們。如使用採購訂單 (Purchase Order)，PO 必須於報名後兩週內進入處理狀態。於報名截止日期前少於兩週報名的隊伍，付款時間將相對緊迫。

同意書

隊伍必須在報名截止日期前，為所有出席人士（包括但不限於教練、學生及家長）提交同意書。未能按時提交者，隊伍將被移至候補名單，且報名費用將不予退還。這些表格涵蓋安全、責任、肖像權及參賽資格等重要事項。由於需要家長同意，請提前確保所有表格已提交。未提交所需表格的隊伍將不得參加賽事。

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above (or announces that Signal No. 8 will be issued within the next two hours) two hours or more before the start of the day’s activities, the event scheduled for that day will be canceled or postponed.

If the relevant warning signal is canceled, the event may resume approximately two hours after the cancellation announcement, subject to venue and traffic conditions. Please closely monitor the latest announcements from the Event Partner and the Hong Kong Observatory.

If a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is issued after the event has started, the event will be suspended immediately and all persons will be arranged to leave the venue in an orderly manner.

If a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued after the event has started, the event may continue indoors if conditions inside the venue are safe. The Event Partner will make the final decision based on safety considerations.

In the event of severe weather, earthquakes, or other unforeseen circumstances that may disrupt transportation or pose safety risks, the event may be canceled or postponed. Any emergency announcements will be posted on the event homepage. We will also contact teams using the information registered on their events.vex.com accounts. Please ensure that your team’s contact details are up to date.

 

緊急情況及惡劣天氣安排

如香港天文台在當日活動開始前兩小時或更早發出黑色暴雨警告信號或八號或以上熱帶氣旋警告信號（或宣布將於兩小時內發出八號信號），當日活動將會取消或延期。

如相關警告信號取消，活動有可能於取消信息公佈後約兩小時恢復進行（視乎場館及交通情況）。請密切留意賽事夥伴及香港天文台的最新公布。

如八號或以上熱帶氣旋警告信號於活動進行期間發出，活動將立即暫停，並安排所有人士有序離開場館。

如黑色暴雨警告信號於活動進行期間發出，若場內情況安全，活動可繼續在室內進行。最終決定權由賽事夥伴根據安全情況作出。

如遇嚴重天氣、地震或其他可能影響交通或構成安全風險的突發情況，活動有可能取消或延期。緊急情況將於活動主頁公布。我們亦會透過隊伍在 events.vex.com 帳戶登記的資料聯絡各隊，請確保隊伍的聯絡資料保持最新。

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: fee will be fully refunded.

If the Event Partner cancels or postpones the event due to major factors such as natural disasters or adverse weather, refunds will be issued.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: will not refund the registration fee.

Teams must submit consent forms for all attendees, including but not limited to coaches, students, and parents, before the Registration Deadline. Failure to do so will result in the team being moved to the waitlist, and no refund of the registration fee will be provided.

After receiving your form, we will send an invoice with payment instructions. Payment is due within two weeks of the registration date. Teams that fail to meet this deadline will be moved to the waitlist.

    • Walking: Take Exit A3 or B, walk along Tat Wan Road and Yung Yi Road for about 10–12 minutes.

    • Minibus Connection: Take Green Minibus 28A (towards Yau King Lane) from the MTR station terminus and get off near Yung Yi Road.

  • Green Minibus:

    • 28A: Tai Po Market Station ↔ Yau King Lane (passes Yung Yi Road).

    • 28K: Tai Po Market Station ↔ Sha Tin (circular route via Tai Po Road).

  • Bus Routes:

    • Nearest Stops: Chateau Royale or Kwong Fuk Estate.

    • Key Routes:

      • 72, 72A, 73A: Connecting Cheung Sha Wan, Tai Wai, Sha Tin, and Tai Po.

      • 73X, 271: Connecting Tsuen Wan, West Kowloon, and Tsim Sha Tsui to Tai Po.

      • E41 / A47X: Direct airport and Lantau connections stopping via Kwong Fuk Estate.

    • 專線小巴接駁： 於大埔墟站小巴總站轉乘 28A（往優景里方向），於雍宜路口下車。

  • 專線小巴：

    • 28A： 大埔墟站 ↔ 優景里（途經雍宜路）。

    • 28K： 大埔墟站 ↔ 沙田（循環線，途經大埔公路）。

  • 專營巴士：

    • 鄰近巴士站： 雍怡雅苑 或 廣福邨。

    • 主要路線：

      • 72、72A、73A： 往返長沙灣、大圍、沙田及大埔。

      • 73X、271： 往返荃灣、西九龍及尖沙咀。

      • E41 / A47X： 機場及東涌直達路線（經廣福邨）。

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.

Note: All Digital Engineering Notebook need to be submitted on or before 5 December 2026, 5:00PM HKT
