General Info
Hello Coaches and Teams! Welcome to the 2026- 2027 VEX IQ Dragon Duel!
Welcome to the Elementary VEX IQ Level Up Dragon Duel at Flagstaff Academy. We are excited to have your teams participating in our tournament this year. With every VEX IQ tournament, our volunteers and judges are what make any tournament run smoothly. We appreciate all of you that have signed up to volunteer your time during this event. There are still many spots to fill, so please share the following link to the DRAGON DUEL VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORM with your staff, families or others that can help out. Per our administration mandate, all volunteers that are 18 and older must sign up through our Flagstaff Academy Volunteer Portal at least two days before the event. This is a quick safety procedure to make sure our volunteers are cleared to work with all students that are competing. Coaches that are registered through VEX, and students under the age of 18 who volunteer do not need to follow this process.
When arriving at Flagstaff Academy make sure to follow the Dragon Duel Parking Map regarding robot drop off and parking areas. Also, have coaches and teams follow the signs for entrance to registration and pit areas. If parking spots are full please have your families park across the street at Front Range Community College. This is marked as overflow parking on the map. Upon arrival and registration teams will be provided a map of their pit area and important areas within the school. Please have your teams become familiar with areas including queuing areas, practice fields, and competition fields. This will help in the flow of the tournament to better stay on the day's schedule.
The Dragon Duel Agenda is an outline of the day's events and is subject to change based on the flow of the tournament. Each team will receive judging times and school maps in their welcome packet upon registering. Please note that we will try our best to stick to the scheduled event times.
We will have a concession stand with a variety of food items and drinks. We please ask students and visitors to keep food and drinks inside the commons area and not in the gym. There are many options available for lunch, as we are centrally located to numerous restaurants around Longmont. Again, all volunteers and judges will have lunch provided in the hospitality room. Please make sure that your volunteers add any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate them for their lunches.
Again we look forward to hosting the VEX IQ Level Up 2026 Dragon Duel. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions to me directly.
