General Info

The Southwest Oaks VEX Blended Qualifier is a robotics competition for middle and high school students in Ohio, bringing together teams to showcase their VEX skills. We will feature in-person judging of engineering notebooks and team interviews on the day of the competition, along with the robot matches. This qualifier provides teams with an opportunity to earn a spot at the state championships.

7:30 - Doors Open - Teams may enter the pits

7:30 - Inspections, Skills Runs, and practice on the competition fields

8:30 - Notebook Submission Deadline

9:00 - Inspections must be completed - Mandatory Event meeting - All fields closed during the meeting

9:30 - Qualification rounds begin

11:45 - Lunch Break

12:30 - Qualification rounds continue 

Approx 2:30 - Skills fields close & Alliance selection begins 

Approx 3:00 - Elimination rounds begin

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of bad weather, we will make every attempt to contact coaches by email and/or phone.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • A 50% refund will be processed for an event cancelled due to weather related emergencies.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • Registration fees will not be refunded.

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
