General Info
Cardinal Gibbons High School is proud to host the 2nd Annual Bots by the Beach, a MS/HS V5RC Tournament for the 2025-2026 VEX Robotics Competition: Push Back!
Please arrive with your robots inspection ready! Teams should complete a preliminary inspection prior to arriving at the event using the V5RC Robot Inspection Checklist.
Concessions (cash only) will be available throughout the event, offering drinks and snacks. More information regarding lunch will be provided to teams soon.
Teams should bring an extension cord (15 feet or longer is recommended); we will provide power as close to each pit as possible.
All participants and attendees are required to follow the expectations outlined in the REC Foundation Code of Conduct.

Volunteer
Volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated! All volunteers are trained at the event, so no prior experience is required. Some roles are for adults only, but many are open to students. All volunteers will be provided free lunch and water.
Students can earn community service hours for volunteering at the event! Students must bring a physical copy of their school's service hour form to the event to be signed by the Event Partner.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of an emergency cancellation or other change in plans, teams will be notified via the team contact information available through RobotEvents. Please check to insure contact emails and phone numbers are correct and up-to-date.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event, a refund will be given. Refunds will always be $5 less than the registration fee, due to the non-refundable fees required by RECF.
If your registered team can no longer attend the event, please email the Event Partner so that teams from the waitlist can be added.
If your registered team has not paid the registration fee by the payment deadline, the team may be moved to the waitlist.
Health and Safety Policies
The safety and well-being of our teams, coaches, volunteers, and community are our utmost priority. To ensure a safe and organized environment, all attendees must check in at the registration table upon arrival.
Teams:
- Each participant will receive a lanyard and ID badge at check-in.
- ID badges must be worn and visible at all times while on event premises.
- ID badges will include the participant's name, team name, and team number.
Volunteers:
- Volunteers will receive a lanyard and ID badge at check-in.
- ID badges must be worn and visible at all times while on event premises.
- ID badges will include the volunteer's name and role.
Spectators:
- Spectators will receive a wristband at check-in.
- Wristbands must be worn at all times while on event premises.
Credentials must be worn at all times during the event and while on the event premises. Only individuals with an official ID badge are permitted to enter restricted areas, including the pit and field areas. Wristbands grant access to general viewing areas, concessions, and other public spaces.

From I-95:
- Take Exit 32 for Commercial Boulevard (FL-870).
- Head east on Commercial for approximately 2.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Bayview Drive and continue for approximately 0.5 miles.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto NE 47th Street.
- The school will be on the left. Enter through the first gate into the main parking lot.
From the Turnpike:
- Take Exit 62 for Commercial Boulevard (FL-870).
- Head east on Commercial for approximately 6.7 miles.
- Turn right onto Bayview Drive and continue for approximately 0.5 miles.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto NE 47th Street.
- The school will be on the left. Enter through the first gate into the main parking lot.
From US-1 (Federal Highway):
- Turn east on Commercial Boulevard (FL-870) and continue for approximately 1 mile.
- Turn right onto Bayview Drive and continue for approximately 0.5 miles.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto NE 47th Street.
- The school will be on the left. Enter through the first gate into the main parking lot.
From A1A (North Ocean Boulevard)
- Turn west on Commercial Boulevard (FL-870) and continue for approximately 1 mile.
- Turn left onto Bayview Drive and continue for approximately 0.5 miles.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto NE 47th Street.
- The school will be on the left. Enter through the first gate into the main parking lot.
Parking:
Ample parking is available in the main parking lot after entering from the 47th Street gate. Additional parking is available on the East side of campus and near St. John the Baptist Church. If teams plan to use buses, please notify the Event Partner in advance to receive parking directions.
Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Engineering notebooks will be evaluated prior to the event; links must be posted in RobotEvents by 11:59 PM on 2-Feb-2026.
