Welcome to the Battle at the Bridge (High School Division) hosted by Woodbridge Senior High School. We are looking forward to hosting you and your teams in what promises to be an amazing event with teams from all over Virginia. See the agenda tab for tentative schedule. You will receive a full information packet 2 weeks before the event. We anticipate that each team will have six competition rounds for this event.

For our friends that have never competed here before, Woodbridge Senior High School Robotics is sponsoring and competing in the event. Thanks to the amazing effort put in by parents, teachers, and county wide volunteers, we are able to host a double division event with 50 HS and 50 MS teams so that we can have a full tournament event for everyone with about 6 to 7 matches. We will play in the main gym with HS on one side and MS on the other so there will always be a match or two in play. HS pits will be in our auxilary gyms above the main floor and MS will be in our cafeteria. As always concessions will be available and we will be working with local merchants to arrange pre-order lunches for your teams. All registered teams will receive an information email will all details and a welcome packet upon checking.

This event is usually open for all to attend.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Prince William County Schools has final say over all weather related delays and closings. In the unlikely event that weather should cancel the use of the building and the event, refunds will be issued to teams that have paid prior to arrival. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for refunds to be mailed to your official financial contact address.

In the event of a weather related delayed opening, the tournament will run but with a modified schedule. We understand that teams may not be able to alter their travel plans. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for no shows to a delayed start event. We will do all that is humanly possible to run a tournament with enough qualifying matches and a full elimination round and provide judging for awarded trophies.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event:

In the unlikely event that weather should cancel the use of the building and the event, refunds will be issued to teams that have paid prior to arrival minus the $5 RECF adminstrative fees. Due to the nature of school accounting, the refunds may take 6 to 8 weeks to process and mailed to the teams offical financial contact address.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

There will be no refund for a cancelling team unless another team is able to take the open spot. Due to the nature of school accounting, the refunds may take 6 to 8 weeks to process and mailed to the teams offical financial contact address.

All teams will have to submit payment or have made arrangements by December 1, 2025. If not paid for by that date, your team will be moved to the wait list to make room for other teams. Please contact us in case you are having an issue with payment.

Travel Info

Woodbridge Senior High School is located at 3001 Old Bridge Road, Woodbridge, VA, 22192. We are situated in the residential community of Lakeridge.

GPS friends, be careful. There is a Woodbridge Middle School. Double check the name and address before pressing START.

You will receive specific instructions onloading and loading areas, two weeks prior to the event.

WSHS has plenty of parking on the east end of the school (Student parking side with drivers ed lot) and limited parking on the west end, the main entrance. If you are just visiting to watch, please go to the student side to park and follow the signs in. More details will be sent out 2 weeks prior to event.

Webcast

Details will be made available to the coaches, via email, if this an option. If possible, we will post to this space a couple days prior to the event.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges

Event Policies

Adult spectators are not allowed in the pit area. The event partner may distribute a marker to coaches and adult volunteers to allow entrance into the pit area.

Team members and official coaches will be issued wristbands for the event to permit access to the pits. Adults without wristbands will be asked to leave the pits. Failure to comply can affect your team in judging award consideration.
