Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Pikes Peak Robotics Weather Policy

Pikes Peak Robotics is committed to providing consistent opportunities for student engagement through our robotics events. As such, we make every effort to hold scheduled events—even during inclement weather—unless conditions make it absolutely necessary to cancel.

Please note the following:

  • Event Status: Our events will typically proceed as scheduled, even when schools or other organizations in the area may be closed. We have only had one weather-related cancellation in our history and it was not a Signature Event.

  • Safety First: We strongly encourage coaches, teams, and families to make decisions based on their own local conditions and comfort levels. If travel is unsafe from your location, please prioritize safety.

  • Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued for teams unable to attend due to weather-related concerns. Refunds will only be considered if Pikes Peak Robotics cancels the event. In Colorado Springs, the weather is highly variable in February, and there is no opportunity to reschedule an event of this size. Teams may wish to consider that when choosing accommodations during their stay.

We appreciate your understanding and partnership in ensuring both the safety and success of our events.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:
All payments will be refunded minus the $10 processing fee within 14 business days.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
No refunds will be provided.

Payment is due by January 1st, 2026, and if teams move off of the waitlist after that date, they will submit payments immediately upon registering.

  5. The official Signature Event Early Bird policy can be found in the RECF Library.
