General Info

Competition Preparation

All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

1. Be ready for inspection

2. Check the VEX Forum for official for rule updates and changes.

3. Carefully read the information below to help prepare your team for the tournament:


4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget:

  • Goggles/Safety Glasses
  • Spare parts & tools
  • Batteries and chargers
  • Programming cables
  • Power strip
  • Programming computer(s)
  • Engineering notebook link posted in RobotEvents.com (if you have one, helpful for Judges, Design and Excellence Awards )
  • Banners and other decorations for your team pit
  • Giveaways if you have them


5. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament. 

6. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.

7. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby. All metal cutting will take place in our designated cutting area. Students wishing to use the cutting area must provide adult supervision from their own coach/mentor/chaperone.

8. Access the REC Library or VEX Forum for troubleshooting and support

Food Available at the Venue:

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be avialable at the event for purchase featuring a variety of hot, cold, and room-temperature items.

Volunteer

VEX Robotics Competitions could never happen without all of the awesome volunteers!  Because of this, we are always looking for volunteers to fill many different roles. If you are interested in volunteering at this event please contact the event partner.

Lunch will be provided for volunteers.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event that there is inclament weather on the day of the event all registered teams will be notified of a cancelation via e-mail.

We will also do our best to reschedule the competition for another day but there is no guarantee of this.

Refund and Payment Policies

Event Cancelation

In the case that the event can not be run on the scheduled date we will try our best to reschedule; however, if we are not able to reschedule the event we will issue a refund to all teams registered.

 

Team Cancelation

Refunds will ONLY be issued if a team notifies the event partner more than a week prior to the event registration deadline.

Please note: any refunds will not include the $5.00 administrative fee from RECF. 

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews:  Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Notebooks need to be submitted by 5:00 PM on January 30, 2026.
