We welcome volunteers and will hold an online volunteer meeting Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 6 P.M.  Please email [email protected] for more information.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of emergencies, qualifying matches will be re-scheduled for the next available Saturday. Please make sure your team contact information is updated in RobotEvents.com, and includes school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: In the event that the league is cancelled by the Event Partner due to health or other conditions, teams will receive a partial refund ($250 less the share of any expenses already incurred by the event partners for game elements, $5 RECF fee, etc.).

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:  If a coach registers and then chooses to withdraw their team(s), a partial refund can be provided prior to the end of registration (10/3/25).  The refund will be $250 less the share of any expenses already incurred by the event partners, such as the $5 RECF fee.  After 10/3/25, refunds cannot be provided, and we ask that teams maintain their participation in the league so we can provide the best possible competition environment for all registered teams.

Health and Safety Policies

The Rio Hondo League will follow all health and safety guidelines that are in place for the hosting school, which is part of the El Rancho Unified School District.    While we currently have no restrictions in place, these guidelines could include masking, limited audience participation and/or proof of vaccination for adults.  

All health and safety guidelines are subject to change at the direction of the El Rancho Unified School District.  Coaches will be notified of any modifications or restrictions at least 2-3 weeks in advance of each meet.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions with In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the final event on January 31, 2026. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.   Digital engineering notebooks must be submitted by the Thursday prior to the final event.
