what is makerfaire?
makerfaire is a convention where people and companies come to show off cool stuff they've made- like a science fair for all ages. it's a celebration of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

every team will receive tickets for 1 adult + students at check-in
all spectators have to purchase a ticket, but can get 30% off using code VEXFAM2025STEM30 here https://oc.makerfaire.com/tickets/
this event is open to the public and will have thousands of people attending to check out cool stuff people have made! our competition is being considered a "booth" at the event, where we're showcasing a vex robotics competition. ticket sales are how this maker faire is able to happen, you're supporting something great by buying tickets!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
our venue is indoors, so we will be able to host the event even if it is raining.
Refund and Payment Policies
if the event partner cancels the event, then all entries that have paid will be reimbursed.
we cannot process refunds if a coach/mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend.

Judging Format
digital engineering notebook submissions / in person team interviews
notebooks will be due on september 3rd by 5pm. we want an early start to notebooks to ensure we get all teams notebooks- but you're welcome to continue working on them after submitting!
team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "my account" panel of the team contact on robotevents.
