Volunteer

With this comes the need for a large number of Volunteers to help make each and every event successful, including Judges, Scorekeepers, Referees, Queuers, Emcees and more. If any of these roles are not a student or D49 staff, they are required to be background checked in advance through the district.

You can see the roles that you could volunteer for at this link: https://kb.roboticseducation.org/hc/en-us/articles/4969327789207-Volunteer-Roles-Available

Start your D49 Volunteer Application here: https://www.d49.org/our-community/volunteer-opportunities

Once your D49 Volunteer Application is approved, please let me know so that I can add you to the volunteer pool for the event, along with any roles you are interested in helping out with this season.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Since it is not a school day, the principal and Event Partner will discuss the conditions if needed and send you an update via email and text the coach number on file as early as we feel like we can reliably make the decision. However, we plan to hold the tournament if possible.

As Scheduled - we will start on time despite weather conditions. If you have made the decision to not participate please let us know.

Soft Start - we will start as close to the scheduled time if teams are here and ready, but will allow some flexibility at the start of the tournament to allow for travel conditions. If you're running late, please reach out to me via email or text and let me know.

Canceled - conditions are unsafe and we will cancel for the day and reschedule if possible.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

A full refund minus $5 will be given, or credit to the rescheduled event.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refund will be given after the payment deadline.

To receive a refund prior to the payment deadline, the coach will have to complete and return a W-9 for the organization so that our finance office can issue the refund. It will take up to 2 weeks for the check to be mailed. The coach can choose to have their registration moved to a future event instead.

Health and Safety Policies

The Campus is a nut free zone. Snacks are encourged, but they cannot contain nuts.
