General Info
WELCOME to the VEX ROBOTICS 2025-2026 AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!
This year teams will need to qualify from their State Championships to win a spot to the National Championships.
The Australian National Championships will be held from Friday the 5th of December to Sunday the 7th of December at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide, SA.
Robot Inspection/Check and the Girl Powered Workshop in will be on Friday, 5th of December.
Competition days will be Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of December 2024.
Each Person will need a Humanitix ticket to enter the event.
Teams who have qualified to the Australian National Championships will need to have their Engineering Notebook in Digital format, the LINK to the Digital Engineering Notebook (DEN) must be uploaded by November the 15th 2026 by 5pm. All teams aiming for a judged award need to have submitted an engineering notebook. *
Once the link is uploaded via Robotevents.com, teams may still update their DEN on an ongoing basis. Engineering Notebook content is expected to change over time, which is part of the Engineering Design Process. Judges will access the links on Event Days and will be given the link provided on November the 15th. For those uploading PDF images who are concerned the timestamp will change, you can link a file , please make sure that each update only includes the most up to date Engineering Notebook so there is no confusion for our Volunteer Judges.
Digital Engineering Notebooks should be freely accessible by the judges. Please make sure your permissions are set to allow judges to view your links with no passwords
You can find more information regarding the Judging process in the Guide to Judging. Hardcopy notebooks will not be accepted at the event.
Teams must complete their Participant Release Form , prior to competiting.
There will be food available for purchase on site. Please makesure to bring a waterbottle and stay hydrated.

This year volunteers will recieve online training, catering, an event shirt and a Fast Pass at the end of their shift. Volunteer
This event is not possible without Volunteers.
Volunteers will be provided with online training and will have dedicated team leaders. Volunteers will be provided catering, an event shirt and a Fast Pass (to use on the Skills Field )
Volunteer roles include:
Field Resetters - reset the fields after play
Queuing Team - maintain the match schedule by coralling teams as they line up in the clearly marked waiting bays.
Score Keepers - data input using tables provided by VEX. Tablets use an image based platform to input the scores. All scorekeepers will have the support of a certified Head Ref
Judges - required from November the 15th to remotely access engineering notebooks via their own personal devices from the comfort of their own homes and mark engineering notebooks using a standard, publicly available rubric. On site from December 6th-7th 2024, Judges will be needed to conduct interviews with teams using a standard, publicly available rubric.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
Should the weather be deamed unsafe, the event will be canceled.
As per the Qualifying Criteria, should the National Championships need to be canceled, teams will be selected from the World Skills Standings to represent Australia at the World Championships in 2026.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event due to severe weather or any other unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances beyond the organiser’s control (including but not limited to natural disasters, venue closures, or significant safety risks), teams will not receive a refund.
If a Coach or Mentor completes registration for the event and later chooses to withdraw or not attend, the request must be submitted via email to [email protected] by COB 21 November 2025. No refunds will be provided for withdrawals received after this date.
Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Submission of the Link is due by Nov 15th 2025. Notebooks can still be updated after the link has been provided.
Event Payment
Please make sure to pay by the due date. Teams who have not paid before arriving at the Australian National Championships will be unable to compete.
Age Information
V5RC - High School
Student - A person is considered a Student if they meet both of the following criteria:
1. Anyone who is earning or has earned credit toward a secondary school (i.e., high school) diploma, certificate, or other equivalent during the six (6) months preceding the VEX Robotics World Championship. Courses earning credits leading up to high school would satisfy this requirement.
2. Anyone born after May 1, 2006 (i.e., who will be 19 or younger at VEX Worlds 2026). Eligibility may also be granted based on a disability that has delayed education by at least one year.
● Middle School Student - A Student born after May 1, 2010 (i.e., who will be 15 or younger at VEX Worlds 2026). Any Students who meet this criteria may also compete as High School Students.
● High School Student - Any eligible Student that is not a Middle School Student.
Ticketing
Robot Inspection/Check and the Girl Powered Workshop in will be on Friday the 5th of December.
Competition days will be Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of December 2026.

Pit Areas Closed - Pits will be closed on Friday and cannot be accessed to store items. Please only bring your robot and essential items on competition days.

Practice Fields Closed - Practice fields will be closed and are not available for use. (No teams are allowed to bring their own fields for practice within the Adelaide Convention Centre)
Saturday 6 – Sunday 7 December
G1 – Respect and Professionalism
Treat all participants, volunteers, officials, and spectators with respect. Poor behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification or removal from the event.
G2 – Student-Centered Competition
This event is for students to demonstrate their own work and learning. Adults must not design, build, repair, or program robots. Coaches and mentors may provide guidance through questions or discussion but must not take over student roles. Warnings will be issued for violations, and continued disregard will result in disqualification of the associated team.
No Adults in Pits
Only students may be in the pit areas for VIQRC and V5RC teams. Coaches and mentors should remain outside the pit zone unless invited by event staff for a specific purpose.
Safety First

Safety glasses must be worn at all times when working in pits, on practice fields, or on competition fields.

No running or unsafe behaviour in any competition area.
