General Info
Competition Information:
The UNO VURC Competition is hosted by the UNO VURC team who is supported by the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the College of Information Science & Technology. The event will be held in the Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC), taking advantage of its multiple floors, open spaces, and modern facilities to create an engaging competition environment. In addition to the matches, participants and guests will have opportunities to learn about campus life, connect with staff and students to see how education extends beyond VEX robotics.
The competition will feature 3 fields in a single division, with 32 teams advancing into the elimination bracket. Each team will compete in at least 6 qualification matches, and the finalized schedule for judging, skills, and matches can be found in the agenda tab. Judging will take place in the pits, and stop during lunch. Teams must bring printed copies of their engineering notebook to be considered for judged awards.
Parental/Guardian Consent:
Per the UNO Youth Activities Safety Guidelines, students will not be allowed to participate in the event unless the consent form sent to coaches, given to students, signed by parents is complete. This form needs to be completed for each student and is not covered by the VEX release form. Coaches will be required to supervise students who have not had the form completed separately from the competition space until they find a ride home or have the form completed. Please ensure all particpants have had their form filled out so they may participate. Students may leave campus for extracurricular activities, and will be given a wrist band upon leaving, and can be taken off when returned.
An updated roster of students who have turned in their forms will be available upon request and will be emailed to coaches up until the event day. All participants must adhere to the same university safety standards or they will not be allowed to enter the event space. All visitors must stay within the allotted space for the event and adhere to the VEX manual for conduct.
Parking:
There is open parking on campus on the day of the event, and large vehicle parking can be accommodated, please see travel info. Out-of-region teams are welcome to sign up for our event and travel support for parking or hotels could potentialy be given if asked. Any changes will be communicated promptly and while not expected, are subject to happen with an active campus. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions or concerns. Registration Information:
All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and the Robot Events website and have their official team number for this event. All registration fees must be paid in full no later than two weeks before the event (Oct. 4th, 2025). Failure to comply may result in your team(s) being removed from the event. Registration fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete, and if there is any problems or concerns please reach out to [email protected].
Food:
Toppers Pizza has generously donated pizza for this event, thanks Toppers Pizza! Pizza will be provided to students during the lunch hour on the schedule. We encourage students to bring water bottles to the event.
Livestream and Internet:
This event will be livestreamed on YouTube and wifi will be available in MBSC. Please see the webcast tab or our youtube channel for more details.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
We will be following UNO Policy for the closure of our facilites. UNO is well equiped to remain open and we as the event could move starting times back/around in the case of weather.
The event partner will make the decision to cancel by the night before if there are only teams from within the region competing. The event partner will make the decision to cancel by the morning before if any teams reach out that they will be making a hotel reservation to attend our event.
The Robot Events page will note if the event is on or not in the case of weather.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
In case of inclement weather and the tournament is cancelled, registration fees received will be returned minus the $5.00 processing fee.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Refunds for non-attendance will only be given if your cancellation notice is received no later than 1 week prior to the event date.

Travel Info
There will be a drop off point near the back of Milo Bail Student Center, Off of South University Drive Road North, visible from Dodge Street.
Parking will be provided on campus within a 5 minute walk away from the event center. Notice will need to be given ahead of the event for busses or larger vehicle parking. Please plan accordingly with the weather.
For larger Vehicles such as short busses, 12 passenger vans, and trailers, there is two possible locations for parking: Lot D/E, or Lot F. Parking is first come first serve!

Judging Format
In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. Notebooks should be submitted at the check in table when walking in. Teams will be judged in the pit area before and during the qualification matches. Interviews will be enforced to 10 minutes in length to assure all teams the ability to be judged.
To be eligible for the Innovate Award teams must fill out the Innovate Award Submission Information Form and include it in the notebook.
