General Info

Welcome to the Capital Area STEM Network Center V5 Tournament!   This will be an in-person tournament and will include judging and robot skills.  Fees must be paid by 1/28/26 in order to compete.  After 1/28, any teams who are not paid will forfeit their spot so that waitlisted teams may be offered a chance to participte. All Consent Form Submissions must be in RobotEvents PRIOR to arrival at the Tournament.  Additional details about parking and concesssions will be provided as we get closer to the event.

Agenda

We plan to finish at 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch.  If we are running behind, lunch will be shortened.  Note that if the judges are trying to interview you and you are not available, they will leave a tag so you can call them back for an interview.  All interviews must be completed by the end of lunch.)

9-12:00 Skills Challenge Opens - 3 Driver and 3 Programming Attempts Max

9-12:00 Begin Qualification Rounds, Judging and Team Interviews Begin 

12:00-1 PM Lunch, vendors will be on-site.  Off site food is allowed to be brought in.  Lunch will be used to catch up on time if we are behind schedule.

1:00 Resume Qualification Rounds, Resume Skills Field

3:45 End Qualification Rounds, Skills Field closes

4:00  Alliance Selection

Team/Volunteer Check-In 1, 2 Welcome teams as they arrive. Verify teams, hand out materials, and collect Engineering Notebooks 7 AM - 9 AM Adult, None
Inspector 1, 2 Conduct inspections to verify the robots comply with the rules and specifications outlined in the Game Manual 7 AM - 10 AM Adult, Has background in VEX or willing to be trained
Judge 1, 2 Evaluate student teams through interviews and Engineering Notebooks. 9 AM - 12 PM Adult, Has background in VEX or willing to be trained
Queuing 1, 2 Staging teams for upcoming matches (ie herding cats!) 9 AM - 12 PM Adult/Student, None
Queuing 3, 4 Staging teams for upcoming matches (ie herding cats!) 1 PM - 4 PM Adult/Student, None

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event will be indoors. If LSU allows the campus to remain open, the event will occur with unattending teams forfiting entry fee.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be issued.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will not be issued for any cancellations other than by the event partner. 

Judging Format

 

 Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
