General Info

 

Miller Grove is a small rural, student centered community. There are no stores, gas stations or restaurants close by. There will be a full concession stand all day. We are able to accept electronic forms of payments as well as cash and checks. We also will include a lunch order form in your welcome folder as you check in. This helps us decide how much hot food to prepare for the day. Please fill it out and turn in to the concession stand by 9:15AM.

We try to run as close to the agenda as possible, but occasionally there are technological or other issues that may cause the schedule to run behind. In the event that this happens we try to recover the time and get back on schedule as soon as possible. 

The student pit area is designated, and all pit tables are marked with team numbers. Only students are allowed in the pits. We ask that students not duck under or break the tape around the pits, there are multiple entrances and exits to the pit areas. Tables are available outside of the pit areas for coaches, sponsors and parents. 

Registration should show as paid in Robot Events 2 weeks prior to the event. Please email [email protected] or [email protected] if you have questions or would like to make other payment arrangements. This also needs to be arranged 2 weeks in advance. Teams that have not paid or made prior arrangements by the 2 week mark will be wait-listed. 

If the tournament must be cancelled for any reason, coaches/mentors will be emailed no later than 6PM the day prior to the event. Please see the refund policy regarding event registration reimbursement. 

If the tournament must be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, etc.),  updated information will be posted and emailed as soon as possible.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

 

This tournament will be rescheduled if at all possible in the event of Bad Weather or an emergency. Coaches will be informed about the updates at the earliest possible time.

Refund and Payment Policies

 

 

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

In the event that the tournament must be canceled, the tournament fee minus the RECF fee will be returned to the team or school once it is received from RECF.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

The Event Partner must be notified at least 2 weeks prior to the event, so that other teams may have the opportunity to attend. If the Event partner is notified 2 weeks prior to the event, the registration fee minus the RECF fee ($5.00) will be returned once a check from the RECF is received with that team’s registration fee on it.  The fees cannot be returned until they are received from RECF.  If the Event Partner is not notified prior to the two-week deadline, all fees will be expected to be paid and no registration fees will be refunded. 

If the event is rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, etc.) there will be no refunds if a team chooses not to attend the tournament on the new date.

Travel Info

Our school is located at the intersection of FM 275 and FM 1567 in Hopkins County. If you use GPS, it will take you to the High School or HS Gym. Our tournament will be in the Multi-Purpose gym. Please take the county road across from the little white church to the rear parking lot. Enter through the glass doors at the south end of parking lot. A map will be included in your welcome email from us.

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
