The STEM Collegiate – Push Back: New Year Reboot V5RC Tournament will be held in the Great Hall at STEM Collegiate Charter School in Edmonton, Alberta, on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

You are on the event page for the High School Tournament. Please note that this event will run in parallel with a Middle School tournament. The High School division has a capacity of 16 teams and will include one competition field, one skills field, and one practice field.

Event Features:

  • Spectator seating will be available in the gym.

  • Classrooms will serve as team pit areas.

  • The event will be live-streamed — please check the Webcast tab on the event day for the link.

  • All teams will have at least six qualification matches.

  • Elimination rounds will consist of 8 alliances of 2 teams.

  • Skills and Judging will be available on a queuing system up until the end of qualification rounds.

Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. The submission deadline for digital notebooks will be 7 days before the event, which is January 3, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Any notebook entries after this date will not be considered by the judges.

Optional Setup & Early Inspection

  • 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Teams are welcome to drop in for early robot inspections and pit setup.
    Practice fields may be available during this time.

     

Saturday, January 10, 2026
Tournament Day

  • 7:00 AM: Doors Open & Inspections Begin
     

  • 9:00 AM: Inspections Close, Opening Ceremony & Driver Meeting
     

  • 9:30 AM: Qualification Matches Begin; Skills & Judging Open
     

  • 12:00 PM: Lunch Break
     

  • 12:45 PM: Qualification Matches, Skills, & Judging Resume
     

  • 4:15 PM: Qualifications Finish; Skills & Judging Close
     

  • 4:30 PM: Alliance Selection Begins
     

  • 5:00 PM: Elimination Rounds Begin
     

  • 6:30 PM: Closing Ceremony, Awards, & Cleanup
     

  • 8:00 PM: Venue Closes

  • Skills score keeping, field reset, and match queuing.
  • Saturday evening and/or Sunday morning clean up.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event that the venue is closed, the tournament will be cancelled or postponed to a later date. Refunds will be processed after the fees of hosting the event have been paid.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: Refunds will be given 

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Refunds will be given if the spot is filled by another team. Refunds will not be given if the spot is not filled by another team.

Health and Safety Policies

The health and safety of all participants, volunteers, and spectators is our top priority.
Please review the following guidelines for the STEM Collegiate – Push Back: New Year Reboot Tournament:

  • All participants must follow venue safety rules and the REC Foundation Code of Conduct at all times.

  • Teams are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized pit area and ensuring that cords, tools, and batteries are used safely.

  • Only team members and approved volunteers are permitted in competition and pit areas.

  • Safety glasses must be worn by anyone handling robots near the field or in the pits.

  • In case of emergency, participants should notify an event volunteer or staff member immediately.

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the venue, and teams are encouraged to maintain good hygiene and personal space.

  • Free on-site parking is available for cars and school buses.

  • Bus parking spots are available.

  • Teams may unload equipment at the main entrance before parking.

Several restaurants, fast food options, and coffee shops are located within a 5-minute drive of the school.

Out-of-Town Teams:
If your team requires overnight accommodation, there are multiple hotels nearby along Whyte Avenue and Gateway Boulevard offering group rates for school events.
