Modesto Robotics and Technology is excited to host this V5 Push Back Tournament at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School. Students and attendees are sure to have a fun-filled day of robotics competition, and we look forward to seeing all of the teams shine! Make sure you don't forget batteries, chargers, and license plates! We will not have concessions however there are plenty of resturants near by.
Qualifying to this Event:
There are three ways for teams to qualify to Championship events:
-
Qualifying Award: Winning a qualifying award at an official event in the team’s Event Region.
-
Robot Skills Ranking: If the Championship event in the team’s region is not filled to capacity through qualifying awards, teams may qualify through the World Skills Standings sorted for the Event Region and by grade level. Teams invited through Robot Skills Challenge Rankings are invited in ranked order after the results of the last qualifying event in the region have been posted. Scores earned after this date will not be used to qualify teams to their Championship.
-
Waitlist: If there is remaining capacity due to teams not accepting the invite after the Robot Skills Rankings invites have been issued, the capacity will either be lowered, and the event will be closed, or teams will be invited from the waitlist. This will be decided by the REC Foundation Manager.
Grade Level: Middle School
Skills Challenge Offered: Yes
Judging Format: Remote Engineering Notebooks
Skills Challenge Offered for VURC/VAIRC teams: No

Agenda Update 2-6-2026
Ravenswood Education Foundation and Modesto Robotics and Technology are excited to welcome you to the 2026 Vex V5 Middle School State Championship!
-
Please note that we need you to come with flexibility, we may start our matches at 10:00 instead of 10:30 depending on how quickly we can get through the Opening Ceremonies and Drive Team Meeting.
-
To address a couple of concerns that have been brought to my attention, Skills Scores will be published during the event, I want to encourage all teams to not wait until the very end to do Skills because fields will be shut down promptly at the start of the last qualifying match.
-
We have several quality controls in place to make sure all fields are in the proper orientation.
