Agenda Update 2-6-2026

Ravenswood Education Foundation and Modesto Robotics and Technology are excited to welcome you to the 2026 Vex V5 Middle School State Championship!

• Please note that we need you to come with flexibility, we may start our matches at 10:00 instead of 10:30 depending on how quickly we can get through the Opening Ceremonies and Drive Team Meeting.

• To address a couple of concerns that have been brought to my attention, Skills Scores will be published during the event, I want to encourage all teams to not wait until the very end to do Skills because fields will be shut down promptly at the start of the last qualifying match.

• We have several quality controls in place to make sure all fields are in the proper orientation.

7:00am Doors open for volunteers 

7:15am Doors open to teams, check in, and inspection begins

8:00am Check-in Closes; any teams not arrived will be dropped from the schedule

8:30am Inspection Closes, Match Schedules released, Judging Starts

9:00am Opening Ceremonies & Drive Team Meeting in the cafeteria

9:45am Skills Challenge Fields Open

10:30am Qualification Matches Begin

12:30pm Lunch break 

1:00pm Qualification Matches Resume 

5:10pm Qualifications End, Skills Field Close

5:45pm Facility Closes (Clean Up)

Note: If you take a robot home with you Saturday evening after inspection, the robot will need to be re-inspected quickly again on Sunday morning.

• All volunteering counts towards volunteering hours for students

• We are happy to sign necessary volunteering hours forms for you

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

This event is conducted in a fully indoor facility. Bad weather is not expected to affect this event.

Teams should make sure their contact information on RobotEvents.com is up to date and accurate. 

Please include in your contact information phone numbers that are also available on weekends (especially for schools), to enable us to reach you in an emergency.

In case of a cancellation, the event partners will contact you as early as possible. 

Refund and Payment Policies

It is each team’s responsibility to ensure that the payments have been processed in time. We will use the visible record of payment on robotevents.com to make the determination.

Teams who have registered but have not paid (or submitted a PO) 2-weeks prior to the event may be removed from the event, unless prior special arrangements have been made with the event partners.

In the unlikely case of a cancellation, the full event registration fee (minus the $5.00 USD RECF fee per registration) will be refunded to all teams.

All teams are responsible for their own transportation and hotel costs.

Health and Safety Policies

No food or drinks are to be consumed inside the event facility. Food and drinks are only allowed in designated areas.

I have made arrangements with two different properties for The CA Region 2 State Champioship please follow the insturctions below to reserve your space at either hotel. You can stay one to three nights and the discounted rate. Friday through Sunday. Reservations must be made by Feb 13, 2025 to get these discounts

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions + In Person Team Interviews:

• Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.

• Engineering notebooks need to have been submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.
