Welcome to Push Back at CSN

Welcome to this season’s V5RC Tournament at CSN featuring the exciting 2025–2026 game, Push Back! We’re thrilled to have teams from across the region come together to showcase their creativity, engineering skills, and teamwork. Alliances will strategize, compete, and problem-solve as they score Blocks, take control of Goals, and earn crucial parking points to push back the competition and drive towards victory. Whether you're a veteran team or joining for your first competition, we’re excited to see what you’ve built and how you can push back the boundaries and score big. Good luck, It's going to be a day full of innovation, collaboration, and fun!

Venue
The Competition Fields, Skills Fields, Practice Fields and Pits will all be located in the June Whitley Lounge at CSN North LasVegas

Parking
Please park on the West side of campus in the general student parking lot. Enter the school through the double doors. 

Concessions/Lunch
On-site concessions will be sold throughout the day. There will be a food truck.

Skills Challenges
All teams will be offered exactly 3 attempts of each Robot Skills Challenge (3 Driving and 3 Programming). If your team misses their chance to complete their attempts during the time provided, they cannot be made up.  Skills will close at the end of qualifying matches. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Team Event Preparation

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. The Inspection Checklists can be found here:  V5RC Inspection Checklist (new for 2025-2026)
  2.  Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.
  3.  Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com
  4. Be sure to read "Attending a V5RC Tournament"
  5. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament
  6. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
  7. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby as the venue is a very tight fit. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.
  8. Understand how the game will be played. VEX participants are more than welcome to do the referee training before they attend a tournament. The referee certification course can be found here.
  9. Read through the Robot troubleshooting guide. The guide can be found here.
  10. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.  (VEXos Version 1.1.5 Released September 2024)
  11.  Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
  • Goggles/Safety Glasses
  • Spare parts & tools
  • Batteries and chargers
  • Programming cable
  • Power strip
  • Laptop computer
  • Engineering notebook (required for Design and Excellence Awards)
  • Giveaways if you have them

Important Notes

  • Skills Challenge will remain open until qualifying matches are complete. At that point the Skills Challenge Fields will close, even if there is still a line.
    To Stay on schedule, Alliance Selection will begin 15 minutes after the last Qualifer.
  • ⚠️ The event will move with the matches, not strictly by printed times.
    Matches may begin earlier than scheduled—please monitor the match queue at all times.
    Teams not present when called to the field will be disqualified from that match. No exceptions.

Full refund minus $5 processing fee on paid registration fees up until February 10, 2025

No refunds after February 13, 2025

 

 

 

Judging Format

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
  • Note book submission deadline is Feb-9,2025
