Welcome all to our STEM/Robotics Center at EPISD!  We are thrilled that you opted to participate in 1st annual New Year, New Gear Pushback tournament.  Please see below for information pertaining to the tournament:

Tournaments at EPISD will now be hosted on Fridays from 7:30AM to 2:30PM in the STEM/Robotics Center located in the 1st floor at CCTE (Please see agenda for detailed information).  Due to blackout times for transportation, we are completing the tournaments by 2:30, otherwise for EPISD schools, you will need to wait for 5:00 for bus pickup.  

**Update** Due to the size of the tournament, the event is now scheduled to be completed between 3:30PM and 5:00PM.

We will have Judging available for this tournament with in-person interviews and the option to submit your engineering journal on-line as well.  Please let us know if you are having trouble submitting your engineering journal through the on-line platform.

Items to consider:

  • Ensure to have all your student participation forms submitted
  • Arrive on time so that we can keep up with scheduled times and be able to leave on time
  • Ensure that your robots fit sizing specifications to so that we can expedite the inspection process
  • Adhere to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct 
  • Push collaboration with your peers and remember to have fun!

*Only participants, coaches, and volunteers are allowed in this event.  Streaming will be available to parents/guardians.  The auditorium will not be available for parents to view the tournament.  Please share this information.  If a room becomes avialable we will let you all know.

In the unlikely event that an emergency/weather would force the event to be cancelled, all listed team coaches will be notified by provided email and phone as early as possible.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be given.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

In the event that you need to cancel, please make sure to notify [email protected] and [email protected].  In order to receive a refund, you must cancel 1 week before the day of the tournament so that teams in the waitlist have sufficient time to make arrangments.  If you registered and did not show, you will not receive a refund. 

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply. Please see the Remote Judging section of the Guide to Judging for more information.

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
