General Info

The 2026 VEX V5 Indigenous Robotics Competition is a two-day invitational event designed specifically for Indigenous schools and tribal communities across the Southwest. Hosted by the Mescalero Apache School STEM Program, the competition provides a culturally supportive environment where native students can showcase robotics, engineering, teamwork, and design skills through the VEX V5 platform.

The event will be held indoors at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort, a world-class venue on the Mescalero Apache Reservation, and will run concurrently with the Indigenous Aerial Drone Competition (ADC), creating a powerful multi-event Indigenous STEM gathering.

Volunteers Wanted!
Join us at the 2026 Indigenous VEX V5 & Aerial Drone Competition (ADC) on March 27-28, 2026 at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort.
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support inspection, scoring, field reset, hospitality, and event operations.
No experience required—training provided!

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply.

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  •   Engineering Notebook  In Person / Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.
