Welcome to the Carolina Countdown - A New Years Signature Event!

There is no better way to bring in the new year than with robotics competition of the highest caliber. We are excited to host the largest robotics event in the southeast at the Greenville Conference Center!

The Carolina Countdown is a two day event starting on New Years Eve and finishing New Years Day. Qualifications matches will pause near midnight so we can give the new year an exciting welcome.

We have partnered with local hotels to support our traveling guess while providing a premium stay in the beautiful city of Greenville, SC. We encourage you to use our partners:

Teams will park in the guest parking lot behind the conference center. All teams should enter at the main entrance. Only registered teams and mentors should be in the pit area during the event. Only team members, official volunteers, and referees should be on the competition floor.

We hope you will enjoy the various attractions in Greenville, SC. From our beautiful downtown, to our variety of parks and recreational outlets, there are plenty of things to do in our incredible city.

*World Spot Eligibility:
Signature Events will be awarded World Championship qualification spots if they meet all established criteria set forth by the REC Foundation. Failure to fully comply with these criteria may result in the event being ineligible to receive World spots, regardless of prior expectations or historical precedent

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event:

A refund of $340.00 per paid team will be issued should the event be cancelled.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refund will be issued.

Judging Format

In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews will be judged in-person the day of the event. All notebook submissions will be digital. Notebooks must be submitted before December 19th, at 12:00AM

Signature Event Early Bird Policy

All Signature Events will have a specific Early Bird Registration that is independent of all local/regional Early Bird systems.
Each team starts the season with three (3) opportunities to register during the Signature Event Early-Bird period.
A Signature Event Early-Bird opportunity is not taken away if a team registers for a tournament hosted by their school or organization (where the team’s coach is the Event Partner).
If a team registers during the Standard Registration period, a token is not taken away.
