General Info

Welcome to Nimitz High School, home of the Vikings! We’re excited to host you for Viking Robotics: The Battle for Valhalla on January 23rd, 2027.

Our event will feature two main competition fields, one dedicated skills field, and one practice fields available throughout the day.

To make your visit smooth and enjoyable:

  • Meal orders will be available approximately two weeks before the event. Details and order forms will be shared with registered teams via email.

  • Parking will be available in front of the competition gym on the east side of the school. Please follow posted signage upon arrival.

  • Check-in and inspection will open at 7:30 AM, and matches will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

Important Reminder:
Please ensure that all V5 brains, controllers, and batteries are fully charged and updated prior to the event. This helps minimize delays and keeps the competition running smoothly.

We look forward to an exciting day of teamwork, strategy, and innovation as teams battle for their place in Valhalla!

8:30 – 8:45 Opening Ceremony and Driver’s Meeting

9:00 -12:00 Qualification Matches / Skills

12:00-1:00 *Lunch

1:30            Skills Closes

1:00 – 2:00 Qualification Matches .

2:15 - 2:45 **Alliance Selection

2:45 -4:30 Finals

4:30- 5:00 Awards, tear down, and go home.

* This is a fluid agenda. Lunch pre-order options will be announced later.

 Lunch may be shortened to keep the tournament on schedule as the Referee and EP see fit.

** This is a fluid agenda Alliance Selection will begin 15 minutes after the last Qualification match, and Finals will begin 15 minutes after Alliance selection is completed.

Nimitz High School is hosting Viking Robotics: The Battle for Valhalla on January 23rd 2027, and we’d love your help. Roles include field reset, queuing, judging, inspection assistants, and more. Training provided—no VEX experience required.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

All cancellations will be communicated through email. Please check your email the day before and the morning of the tournament (before leaving).

If a cancellation is required we will do our best to reschedule but there may not be an opportunity to based on building availability.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

In the event that the tournament is canceled by the event administrator, a refund will be issued to registered teams minus the fees charged by RobotEvents.com.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

If a team/coach cancels their registration, it must be done at least two weeks prior to the event, or no refund will be granted.

Judging Format

 Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
