General Info

New Venture Institute Open: V5RC High School Tournament

This is a 16 Team Torunment, specifically for High School teams to compete in:

  • Skills will be offered at the start of this event
  • There will be no Judging at this event

The emphasis of the event is for high-school-aged students to:

  • Learn the rules and challenges presented by Override in a competitive environment
  • Meet the Flinders VEX Team, SA's only VEX U team, and see Flinders University at Tonsley

We're looking forward to seeing as many teams as possible from across South Australia. So, get your teams along to the event and let's get into it for the 2026-27 season!

Volunteer

Volunteers for the event will consist of the Flinders VEX Team (FVT). Please treat all Flinders staff and students with respect throughout the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event will be held indoors. The only concern will be entering and exiting the building which should be a minimal process.

  • If there are significant concerns, please contact us.
  • If the event is unlikely to go ahead, we will contact you.

Refund and Payment Policies

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event, then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

  • If Teams withdraw after the cut-off date, registration fees will not be refunded
  • Refund Cut-off: 5 PM July 20 ACST

If the event is cancelled, all registered teams will be contacted and refunded.

Health and Safety Policies

Students must wear:

  • Enclosed shoes throughout the whole event
  • Safety glasses alongside the field

Travel Info

The competition will be held on the first floor of the Flinders University building.

Enter via the MAB on the south side of the building, either via the large concrete stairs or the elevators past the glass doors. Check-in and inspection will be in front of rooms 1.01 and 1.02. These are located west of the elevators on the first floor. There is a map uploaded under "Documents."

Parking will be at the driver's discretion.

Judging Format

This event will not be judged.
