General Info

Welcome to the VEX V5 for Middle Schools- Override. This tournament is being held at Lanier Middle School in Sugar Hill, Georgia.

In order to facilitate as many teams as possible, we ask that all spectators stay in the gym. This will allow you to watch all of the tournament. Only coaches that are listed for your team will be allowed in the cafeteria, which is our pit area.

We are requesting that any team that would like to be considered for Judged Awards such as the Design or Excellence Awards, should submit their Digital Engineering Notebook a week before the event. For this event, the date is October 30, 2026.

All participants are expected to complete the participant release form . (also available in Spanish)  Once per season covers all events.

Judging Format: DEN is virtual, but live interviews.

Doors open at 8:00 for students and coaches only - Specatators will go to our gym.

  • 8:00 Door opens for students

  • 8:10-8:25 – Inspection

  • 8:30 – 11:00 Skills and round one of interviews

    • Teams must be in line for skills by 10:30

  • 11:00 - 10:55 - Drivers meeting

  • 11:30 – 12:00 - Matches

  • 12:00 – 12:30 - Lunch

  • 12:30 - 3:00 – Matches

  • 3:00 – 4:30 - Finals

  • 4:30 to 5:00 – Awards

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of extreme weather or other emergencies that causes travel or safety issues for most teams, the event may be postponed or canceled, as necessary. All teams will be notified and kept up to date with changes as soon as they are made.

Refund and Payment Policies

 

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

we will credit you for a future event this season or next season. Our county has difficulty doing refunds.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

no refund will be issued.

Judging Format

Our judging format is as follows:

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that this a week before the event date.
