We are excited to invite you to the annual Stamford Robotics Open VEX V5 Robotics Competition™ (MS/HS)! This event is part of ACAMIS and brings together talented students from various schools to showcase their skills in robotics, innovation, and teamwork.

The event will cost 500 HKD/CNY/MOP per team. If you would like this fee waived, please email [email protected] to register an adult volunteer to serve as a role for each registered team. Deadline to submit a volunteer is October 5th, 2026 – 12:00 PM.

Teams must arrive with robots ready for inspection in accordance with the official 2026/2027 V5RC Game Manual robot rules.

With only 16 teams, the Qualification Matches and Alliance Selection will move much faster than a larger event, allowing you to easily fit the entire tournament (including Skills, Judging, Alliance Selection, and Elimination Finals) into a single, action-packed day.

- Normal operations will continue. Parents are advised to exercise caution when commuting.

- The event will be suspended if the warning is issued before the start of the tournament day.
- If the warning is issued during the event, students will remain at school until the warning is lifted.

Health and Safety Policies
Stamford American School Hong Kong (SAIS HK) operates under a comprehensive "Culture of Care" framework managed in alignment with the Cognita global safeguarding and educational standards. Its health, safety, and student welfare policies are designed to maintain a secure environment across both its Ho Man Tin (main) and West Kowloon campuses.
1. Campus Security and Access Control

Monitoring: The campus is secured with 24-hour physical security guard presence and monitored by over 135 continuous CCTV cameras.

Visitor Management: Strict visitor signing-in protocols and a color-coded lanyard system are used to easily identify staff, parents, and authorized visitors. No parents will be allowed until the afternoon finals; only parent volunteers.
2. On-Site Medical Care and Health Management

Qualified Medical Staff: The school has a dedicated on-site clinic staffed by fully qualified registered nurses during school operational hours.

Staff Certifications: All teaching and classroom support staff are required to hold and maintain basic first aid qualifications.

Medical Notifications & Quarantines: Parents are required to disclose all student medical conditions, allergies, or health updates immediately. The school strictly enforces quarantine regulations for infectious diseases as mandated by local Hong Kong health authorities.
3. Student Safeguarding & Wellbeing

Judging Format
The Engineering Notebook will be evaluated only on competition day. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link in the "My Account" panel of the team contact on events.vex.com. The submission deadline is Tuesday, 3 November 2026, 12:00 China Standard Time.
The Judge Advisor will download the Digital Engineering Notebooks for evaluation after the submission deadline, but will not prevent teams from continuing to update their Digital Engineering Notebooks.
Teams can participate in this event without an Engineering Notebook and still be interviewed, but the Team will not earn any top judged awards. For the most current award descriptions and judging criteria, please visit library.globalrobotics.org.
Late submissions or failure to submit the Engineering Notebook digitally will not be entertained. Please refer to the Refund Policy on Team withdrawal cases.
Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Each Team can bring their own physical engineering notebook as a presentation tool during the interview.
