General Info

Welcome to THE BATTLE AT THE BOLT VEX Robotics Competition! 

Hello Teams and Welcome to BATB!

Thank you for signing up for our event. Please complete your payment before the event date.  

Participant Release Form:  Participant Releases are Electronic again and need to be submitted by Sept 8th. The link is in the Document Tab.

Notebooks:  Notebooks need to be submitted electronically. If your team is submitting a notebook it is due by September 25, 11:59pm.

Pizza:  Pizza order form will go out the week before the tournament. One pizza is included for each registered team, additional pizzas can be ordered on the form.

Inspections:  Coaches, Please help speed up our inspection time in the morning of by checking your students' robots prior to the day of event and update the firmware to the brain.  We will be performing inspections Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Team Meeting: We encourage your teams to bring all your questions to the meeting and our head referee will do the best to offer clarity.  

Skills Field:  As soon as you have passed inspection your team may enter the skills field line. The skills field will close promptly at the end of qualification matches.  Those running skills will be brought over the elimination matches to help referee.

Qualification Matches: Our Goal is start matches at 9:30 AM.  Each team will have at least 5 qualification matches.

Lunch:  We currently have a Lunch break scheduled for our awesome volunteers at 12-1pm, this is subject to change.

Alliance Selection:  Our Goal is start this process around 2:30PM.

Elimination Matches:   Single elimination, no best of three for the finals. 

Awards:  We will be awarding 4 Judged awards (Excellence, Design, Innovate and Judges) along with Tournament Champions and Skills Champion after the Finals.  A middle school Excellence will be awarded if we have enough middle school teams participating.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event may be rescheduled in case of emergency/bad weather. Coaches will be contacted if issues arise.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • full refund

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than two weeks before the competition. Refunds will be sent out from the event to teams who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through events.vex.com we must receive the funds from events.vex.com first, this sometimes takes 3-6 months.

 

Judging Format

 

In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.

Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on events.vex.com.
