Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
The current forecast as of 3pm Thursday is as follows:
Gradually building overcast will give way to snow at 4am tomorrow (Friday) morning
It will continue to snow all day changing to mixed snow and rain tomorrow evening and steady rain at midnight.
That rain is forecast to continue to fall all day Saturday.
At the current time we anticipate our event will proceed as planned, starting, as published, at 7:30am when Gladstone
custodians will unlock the doors of the school.
However, like any weather event, there is a measure of uncertainty. Here is how we propose to deal with it.
Outbound Communications (from PYRS)
Should conditions or the situation warrant a significant delay or cancelation of the event, we will notify you in two ways.
We will e-mail a message to this distribution list
The list is based on the contact information you supplied when registering your team. If the e-mail needs to go to someone else, please notify me with a reply to this e-mail address.
We will also broadcast the information on Twitter. Follow PYRS@PYRSReporter
Inbound Communications (to PYRS)
The event is not cancelled and we are assuming that all registered teams will attend but we recognise that while the event site might be fine, teams and coaches, coming from diverse locations across the Lower Mainland (and Vancouver Island) may encounter their own weather related difficulties.
If you must cancel or encounter significant delay, please either reply to this e-mail or call or SMS my cell phone
604-617-6931 to let us know of your change in plans. Doing so will allow us to adjust the match schedule to delete the missing teams.
