General Info

Farmingdale Tower Takeover Qualifier

We are pleased to host out third annual VEX event! Please see the various tabs for details, but here is the key information:

Sunday event!

Woodward Parkway is the main entrance for drop off and parking. 

Event volunteer  help needed, especially from coaches! Please contribute your expertise for a portion of the day. Email Ann Grady if you could assist with judging, setup, inspection, Tournament Manager, etc. or please stop by the Admin area in the morning for other tasks. 

Doors open at 7:30 am.

Only coaches may check in teams, turn in engineering notebooks (be sure they are labeled with team number/letter) and obtain the judging schedule. Robots must pass inspection by 9:00 AM to be included in the competition schedule. 

Note we will limit regular registration to 3 teams per school or organization. You may add additional teams to the wait list. We will accept teams from the wait list as space allows, giving priority to teams/organizations who have not previously competed or qualified for the State Championship. Registration fees are refundable if notice of cancellation is received by December 15th.

Agenda

7:30 Doors open

8:00 Judging begins; inspection opens

9:00 inspection closes

9:30 driver meeting: Judging in classrooms concludes and continues in pits.

9:45 First Match!

10:00 Pizza orders close. 

12:30--1:00 Lunch Break if possible

1:00 Matches resume

 3:30 Alliance selection followed by elimination rounds

4:30 Award ceremony begins

 

 

Volunteer

We are seeking volunteers in many positions! Please email Ann Grady [email protected]  if you are able to volunteer. Walk-in volunteer positions may also be arranged at the VEX Admin area outside the gym. 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of inclement weather, it is possible we could be delayed or cancelled. We can not reschedule the event. Refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled. Please check the general info tab for updates in case bad weather occurs or is forecast for event day.

Refund and Payment Policies

Registration fee is fully refundable if notice is given to the event partner no later than December 15th.
